Instinct TestsA short taste of carriage dog work for dog and handler. On lead with handler supported. Prerequisite Groom Safety Briefing. Instinct Test certificate may be awarded. Training TrialOn lead. May include bronze obedience and/or endurance element 1km8km. May include (nonintervention) mock vet test - vet not required. Feedback given. Non-competitive. Road and Carriage Dog PreQualification CertificateOff lead. Includes bronze obedience test and endurance element 5km8km. Will include (nonintervention) mock vet test - vet not required. Judged under BCDS rules, regs and conditions by approved BCDS judge. May be judged on pass or fail basis or scored, at discretion of organisers in consultation with the judge. . Noncompetitive. Carriage or Road Dog PreQualification Certificate awarded. Dogs potentially ready for a Bronze Trial – dog and handler needing coaching and confidence.xx$
Road and Carriage Dog Obedience CertificateOff lead. Obedience test without endurance under Trials rules, regs and conditions judged on pass or fail basis by approved BCDS judge at Bronze, Silver or Gold level. Noncompetitive. Bronze, Silver or Gold RD or CD Obedience Certificate awarded. Dogs/Handlers with appropriate level of training and experience unable or not wishing to do endurance trial.xx
Bronze and Silver Road or Carriage Dog TrialOff lead. Obedience test with 10km and 20km vetted endurance under Trials rules, regs and conditions. Judged by approved BCDS judge and vet at bronze level. May be Qualification only (judged at pass or fail basis) or competitive (judged under BCDS scoring system). Bronze and Silver Road or Carriage Dog Qualification awarded. Dogs with basic level obedience confident to work with horse or carriage and conditioned to run 10kmxx
Gold Road or Carriage Dog TrialOff lead. Obedience test with 20km and 40km vetted endurance under Trials rules, regs and conditions. Judged by approved BCDS judge and vet at silver and gold level. May be Qualification only (judged on pass or fail basis) or competitive (judged under BCDS scoring system). Gold Road or Carriage Dog Qualification awarded.

Dogs with intermediate level obedience confident to work with horse or carriage and conditioned for required distance.x
